Sam Brown named WallGoldfinger shipping/receiving, maintenance supervisor
Oct. 13, 2016
Sam Brown of Plainfield, Vt., is putting his maintenance experience to work as WallGoldfinger’s new shipping/receiving and maintenance supervisor.
Based in Randolph, Vt., WallGoldfinger creates high-end custom corporate furniture and reconfigurable table lines for leading businesses, organizations and government agencies around the world.
Brown’s role is to coordinate shipping by truck, trailer or plane of the company’s high-end completed work to clients – be they located across the country or across the world. Brown is also in charge of receiving supplies and maintaining WallGoldfinger’s 62,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art factory.
A Plainfield native, Brown grew up in Fayston and attended Harwood Union High School graduating in 1994. He went on to work as a mason tender around the state; ran the family automotive garage in Warren; did fire sprinkler installation in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York; and worked in maintenance at first Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Waterbury for 10 years and then most recently at HP Hood in South Barre.
He joined WallGoldfinger in September for the work culture and opportunity to be part of such a high-end manufacturer.
“Everybody here is extremely nice and always in a really good mood,” reflected Brown, who is learning the shipping aspects of the job as well as the plant and finding himself excited for the variety of work he faces each day.
Also exciting is the variety of furniture the 45-year-old company ships around the world.
In the hallway leading into WallGoldfinger, large photos of past projects are featured. Some, like the tables built for the White House, feature government leaders. “I was really impressed when I saw the pictures of the tables with the president and the naval commander,” said Brown, noting it is exciting for a Vermont company to work with the nation’s leaders.
When not at WallGoldfinger, Brown is busy as a husband to wife Victoria and father to sons, Colin, 22, Solomon, 18, and Noah, 16. He also has a 1-year-old granddaughter and a grandson on the way. Together the family enjoys kayaking and four-wheeling.
WallGoldfinger, renowned for its work culture, not to mention furniture quality, has other job opportunities currently available due to volume, including woodworkers and a finisher. Learn more in the “Employment” section.
