Vermont Small Business Awards Celebration

Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas awarded John Wall and WallGoldfinger Inc. as the 2006 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year. The Vermont district of the U.S. Small Business Administration honored recipients at a ceremony presented by Vermont Business Magazine at the Discover Jazz Tent in Burlington’s Waterfront Park.

Nine other Vermonters received Champion Awards during the lakeside awards ceremony, recognizing their business achievements over the past year. A complete list is available online at Vermont Business Magazine.

Our Winter (v20/n1) newsletter was recognized by the editors of Graphic Design USA as an oustanding inhouse design. Awards categories focus on the activities and strengths of inhouse design departments, based on its creativity and effectiveness. Nearly 3500 entries were submitted of which less than 1 in 5 received recognition.

Graphic Design USA, now in its 43rd year of publication, is the craetive professional’s monthly news, people, projects, and opinion magazine. GDUSA is also an experienced competition organizer dating back to the mid-1970s.

Michael’s Fund is a tax-exempt fund and part of The Vermont Community Foundation, a public charity. The fund was created in memory of, and dedicated to, Michael Goldfinger, who died of cancer in 1997.
