Concept To Reality: Polished Process |
Working with HLW in New York, WallGoldfinger brought to realization a sleek reception desk for a Manhattan investment firm. This involved several steps, the first of which had us developing some 3D color renderings for various options; simulating shapes, colors and textures, these enable the designer and client to get a sense of what the piece will look like in real life. WG uses the graphics program AutoDesk Maya to create these photo-realistic drawings. |

Shown above are final renderings depicting the selected scheme. Based on these, Wall Goldfinger will move to the next step, the production of engineering drawings |
WG uses Solidworks to produce working drawings. This system allows unprecedented flexibility in fine-tuning the design, moving elements, and incorporating designer changes stemming from the approval process. Exploded views are one feature of the program. |

The completed desk measures 8'-3" wide x 4'-6" deep and employs a mix of non-directional stainless steel and "Black Absolute" granite. A black lacquer finish is used on all interior cabinetry. |
