In this case, a spectacularly veneered 21'-0" x 7'-0" boat-shaped table rides atop some decidedly atypical bases. In many projects, if not most, there is not too much attention paid to a table’s supports; usually they are relatively simple drums or cubes or panels. However, in this instance, site considerations and the designer’s and client’s inclinations led them in a different, far more decorative direction.
New York’s Spector Group combined block mottled makore with satinwood veneers on the top, while the table edges and bases are executed in a mix of mahogany veneers and solids. Reminiscent of classical 19th century furniture, the bases’ inverted arches are fabricated from 3"-thick Honduras mahogany…sturdy! The table’s design also incorporates a small amount of stainless steel inlay as an accent.
The table includes a full battery of electronic devices. There is a single large “flipper” hatch with an integral Polycom unit, ECA Interact UT power and data boxes at either end, and six smaller flip-up microphone units. All combine to give the client, a Manhattan financial services firm, significant communications flexibility in a boardroom setting.
So, simple or complex, whatever floats your boat (or square or ellipse or rectangle or racetrack…), WallGoldfinger can almost certainly build it. Just let us know what you have in mind and weâll be happy to evaluate, price, and most of all, build your dream boat (or square or ellipse or rectangle or racetrack…).

(TOP) The inverted arches create a different and imposing look. (BOTTOM) Shown here deployed, the permanently attached Polycom can simply flip 180° and be stored out of sight. All wires are concealed and remain attached no matter what the position. |

This corner detail showcases the attention to detail found in all WallGoldfinger projects. Here we have a solid mahogany molded edge, satinwood crossbanding, stainless steel accent inlay, and the block mottled makore field. |

Hatches blend almost seamlessly into the overall veneer pattern. WallGoldfinger’s veneering department has years of experience matching grains and textures. |
