One reason we at WallGoldfinger love being in the custom furniture business is that there is usually very little repetition in what we do. Designers and clients are always coming up with new requirements, new configurations and new combinations of materials. Sure, we get a lot of repeat business from satisfied customers but it’s usually something different each time around. We appreciate being kept on our toes, with virtually every job unique and, to some degree, an adventure — we’d go crazy otherwise.
A case in point is the New York law firm covered here. Butler Rogers Baskett, the designers, were charged with developing different table sizes and shapes for a suite of conference rooms while retaining aesthetic continuity from room to room. The unifying theme became the combination of materials, in this case contrasting dark quartered bubinga and mahogany and light quartered figured anigre. Further enhancing design coherence is the consistent detailing of the stainless steel power/data hatches.
The job required eight tables of varying sizes and shapes, a few of which are shown to the right. All were installed over a period of two days by a local crew under the direction of one of our experienced and jobsite-savvy project managers.
As is often the case with conference table programs, WallGoldfinger was asked to fabricate several complimentary credenzas as well. Six of these case pieces were required, including one massive twenty-four foot long unit. All of the credenzas feature durable Calacatta Roccaccia stone tops and utilize the same attractive veneers as the accompanying tables.
