Finish Technician
WallGoldfinger, Inc., a premium custom contract furniture manufacturer for major corporations in the US and abroad, is looking for a candidate who can perform a full range of skilled finishing tasks in the manufacture of cabinets and furniture, with a focus on more complex, difficult or unusual job assignments. The ideal candidate will also be able to assist the Finish Supervisor in training and overseeing the work of junior technicians, and in carrying out various administrative functions.
Typical responsibilities include a full range of skilled tasks associated with product finishing, with focus on assignments requiring advanced technical skills, including:
- Inspecting work prior to the application of finish for obvious defects
- Mixing finishes and stains, following written recipes
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment
- Applying stains and lacquers under supervision
- Reading shop drawings as necessary to answer questions arising in finishing
- Assisting in cleaning shop areas, moving materials in and out of work areas, stocking inventory
- Logging time worked on jobs, and completing time sheets and other work records as required
- Working in accordance with safety rules, in finish and in other areas of the shop.
